Private primitive dry campsite (no elec/water at site) with firepit/cooking grate and picnic table. Clean composting outhouse on site and a nice SHOWER. Stunning sunrise views of the national park.

Stayed at campsite #9 at Mel’s and would return for any other of her spaces again! The space was plenty for our 3P tent, parking, and Mel’s provided hammock & picnic table. The outhouse and shower were convenient and clean. Stargazing and viewing sunrise/sets from the hammock she provided was so nice! Big Bend NP West entrance was a short drive as she disclosed. Overall, no issues during my stay at Mel’s.

This was a phenomenal spot for car camping and proximity to Big Bend. The view into the park was simply gorgeous at sunset, and the stars overhead were wonderful. Will definitely be back again.

never actually met Mel - but was impressed with the outdoor shower and bathroom facilities- well kept - efficient . The area was also kept clean and the views to the desert were amazing !

Melanie has provided a most beautiful place to enjoy peace, nature and open skies. We were so thankful to have the opportunity to enjoy time and rest here and would absolutely return again!
